Anyone who gives the matter the least thought must be forced to the conclusion that there exist two Jewish Holocausts, the true and the false. If Canada intends to memorialize the true Jewish Holocaust, then we must all be for it; if the false, then we must all be against it. Canada must avoid building a Holocaust museum which in Israel Shahak's words promotes "the myth of the Holocaust" or "the falsification of the Holocaust" and which will be like Israel's Yad Vashem, "truly beneath contempt." |
There has been some discussion in the Canadian press recently
concerning the construction of a Holocaust museum in Ottawa. This
topic is of central interest to Ukrainians because in case you haven't
noticed the Jewish Holocaust is being increasingly portrayed not as an
event in which Germans victimized Jews, but rather as an event in which
Ukrainians victimized Jews. Thus, for example, the contemporary
prosecution of septuagenarian and octogenarian veterans for having served
in German armed forces during World War II is today being directed by
Canada's Justice Department not at Germans but at Ukrainians. As it may well be the case that the purpose of the proposed Holocaust museum is to continue such vilification of Ukrainians, it seems natural that Ukrainians might wish to ask supporters of the Holocaust museum project precisely which Holocaust it is that they want Canada to memorialize. Should Canada memorialize the Holocaust in which Frank Walus was the "Butcher of Kielce," as accused by Simon Wiesenthal, as testified to by twelve eye-witnesses, and as convicted by Judge Julias Hoffman? Or should Canada memorialize the Holocaust concerning which increasingly fantastic tales began to be told and the lives of those innocent of any crimes ruined? Frank Walus Should Canada memorialize the Holocaust in which John Demjanjuk was "Ivan the Terrible of Treblinka," first torturing and then murdering close to a million Jews? Or should Canada memorialize the Holocaust hijacked by fabulists who framed an innocent John Demjanjuk, kept him in solitary confinement in Adolph Eichmann's cell for seven years, had him convicted in an Israeli court and sentenced to death? Ukrainian American Bar Association I Ukrainian American Bar Association II Ukrainian American Bar Association III Should Canada memorialize the Holocaust in which some Ukrainian "Ivan the Terrible of Treblinka" whether he was Ivan Demjanjuk or Ivan Marchenko or whatever Ivan first tortured and then murdered close to a million Jews? Or should Canada memorialize the Holocaust concerning which the US Office of Special Investigations created the myth of an "Ivan the Terrible of Treblinka" in order to justify the attempt to murder John Demjanjuk? Letter 6 to Neal Sher Should Canada memorialize the Holocaust in which a young Jerzy Kosinski roamed the wartime Polish countryside being everywhere brutalized by the savage Poles? Or should Canada memorialize the Holocaust which Jerzy Kosinski survived in comfort, protected by the very Poles whom he later calumniated to promote his career as a Holocaust survivor? Jerzy Kosinski Should Canada memorialize the Holocaust of David Katz in which the Gestapo was predominantly Ukrainian? Or should Canada memorialize a Holocaust in which the Gestapo contained no Ukrainians at all? The truth according to David Katz Should Canada memorialize the Morley Safer-Simon Wiesenthal Holocaust in which prior to occupation by German forces, Ukrainians in Lviv perpetrated the single greatest pogrom of the war, killing some 5,000 to 6,000 Jews? Or should Canada memorialize the Holocaust of historian Raul Hilberg who denies that any such pogrom took place? What Happened in Lviv? Or even the Holocaust in which during this same interval in this same city of Lviv, the Jewish-dominated NKVD killed about this same number of Ukrainians? Letter 15 to Simon Wiesenthal Letter 16 to Simon Wiesenthal Letter 19 to Simon Wiesenthal Should Canada memorialize the Holocaust in which Germans together with Ukrainians murdered 33,771 Jews in three days at Babyn Yar? Or should Canada memorialize the Holocaust in which German killing units murdered a much smaller number of Jews at Babyn Yar, Jews from among those few who because they were old or economically and militarily insignificant had not been evacuated from Kyiv prior to occupation by German forces? Andrii Pysachenko's eyewitness account Should Canada memorialize a Holocaust in which Simon Wiesenthal is respected as the world's leading Nazi Hunter, Neal Sher as America's, and Sol Littman as Canada's? Or should Canada memorialize a Holocaust in which these three leading Nazi hunters are unmasked as Holocaust fabulists? Simon Wiesenthal's Nazi hunting Letters to Neal Sher Deschκnes excoriates Wiesenthal and Littman Should Canada memorialize a Holocaust in which Black fighting units of the American Army liberated Buchenwald and Dachau, as proposed in the PBS documentary Liberators? Or should Canada feature this same film as an example of the misrepresentation of the Holocaust to achieve political ends? Jeffrey Goldberg: The liberation that wasn't Should Canada memorialize a Holocaust in which Jews were gassed at Auschwitz? Or should Canada credit the testimony of Auschwitz survivor and Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel who reported that the method of execution employed at Auschwitz was leaping into pits of fire? Letter 3 to Elie Wiesel Should Canada memorialize a Holocaust in which Jews became the historically-unprecedented victims of genocide? Or should Canada memorialize the Jewish Holocaust as one following hard on the heels of other genocides, some perpetrated predominantly by Jews themselves? Jewish Conquest of the Slavs Should Canada memorialize a Holocaust in which the chief accomplices of the Germans were Ukrainians? Or should Canada memorialize a Holocaust in which Jewish collaboration exceeded Ukrainian collaboration? Letter 7 to Anne McLellan: Jewish War Crimes Letter 13 to Anne McLellan: Israeli treatment of a Nazi collaborator Letter 17 to Anne McLellan: Jewish Ghetto Police Below follows a letter written by Israeli political commentator, Israel Shahak. If any proposed Holocaust museum will have inscribed above its door the following words from Israel Shahak's letter (as anti-Ukrainian as these words are), then Canadians may begin to believe that the motivation behind the museum might be to memorialize real events and to disseminate understanding; if not, and if nothing comparable, then Canadians may well suspect that the purpose of the museum is to further disseminate Holocaust disinformation:
And here is the complete letter of Israel Shahak:
Anyone who gives the matter the least thought must be forced to the conclusion that there exist two Jewish Holocausts, the true and the false. If Canada intends to memorialize the true Jewish Holocaust, then we must all be for it; if the false, then we must all be against it. What all Canadians must oppose is the building a Holocaust museum which in Israel Shahak's words promotes "the myth of the Holocaust" or "the falsification of the Holocaust" and which will be like Israel's Yad Vashem, "truly beneath contempt." Canada must avoid building a Jewish Holocaust museum whose chief aim might prove to be a continuing calumniation of Ukrainians this on top of Canada's ongoing persecution of Ukrainian septuagenerians and octogenarians for the crime of having been inducted into the German armed forces while they were teen-agers. Canada must avoid compounding the magnitude of the second-greatest catastrophe to befall the Jewish people in this century, which after the Holocaust itself is the falsification of the Holocaust:
