Settlers Attack Palestinian Farmers in Tubas
TUBAS, Palestine, June 1, 2003,
(IPC)-- Armed Jewish settlers attacked Sunday afternoon
Palestinian farmers and seized their crops in different
villages near the northern West Bank town of Tubas, IPC
correspondent said.
Jewish settlers, armed with automatic machineguns,
assaulted several Palestinian peasants in the villages of
Bardala and Inilbida, near Tubas, witnesses told IPC
correspondent.
"The Jewish settlers threatened us to be shot or leave
our crops. They stole large amounts of vegetables and fruit,"
Palestinian farmer said under the condition of
anonymity.
In the meantime, Israeli occupation forces opened heavy
machine gun fire at Palestinian houses in the city of
Khan-Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, Palestinian security
sources said.
Israeli soldiers, stationed at watch towers around the
illegitimate Jewish settlement of “Niveh Dkalim”, opened their
heavy machine guns at the Palestinian houses in the Al-Namsawi
neighborhood in Khan Younis.
Several apartments were lightly damaged, while no
wounded persons were reported, security sources
said.
